Raleigh restaurant recs

I know this has been asked before but it is my husbands bday today (yay!) and we have two more dinners this week and we're not sure where to go.  Any suggestions?

 Thanks!

Re: Raleigh restaurant recs

  • Some of my faves for nicer places are: Coquette, Vivace, 18 Seaboard and Solas (especially on a nice night the outdoor patio area is great, though I think the ambiance is better then the food--this could also be good for drinks).

If he's a steak guy there is always Sullivans, Angus Barn etc..

Also hear good things about Buku (a more moderate/casual place that replaced Fins).

Hope this helps and have fun!

  • Daniel's in Apex (not Raleigh but so delicious I had to recommend)

Red Room, Bogart's, Angus Barn, Gravy

  • Some commonly recommended restaurants are Mo's Diner (not really a diner at all), Cafe Luna (Italian), Michael Dean's (seafood), Twisted Fork (American), and Red Room (tapas).  That's I can think of for now!
  • If you are in the mood for good seafood (friend or broiled or grilled) but not a fancy place, you should check out Captain Stanley's.  We tried this place for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised.  The food was great and super quick!  And be careful if you order a large platter, the small is gigantic!!!
  • The Pit in downtown raleigh my DH loves it... yummo!!!
  • Sitti - it's Lebanese SO good.
  • A couple of more to add to the list are Winston's Grille. and (I know it's a chain restaurant) however I love Bonefish Grill.

  • Dos Taquitos is my favorite place in Raleigh. Winston's is really good too. Bella Monica also tops my list.
  • Thanks for all the options ladies!  Keep 'em coming if you have more suggestions.
  • I second the recommendation for Buku.  Humble Pie is also a good option.
  • <3 Winston's, I'm going there tomorrow for lunch!  We also love Busy Bee for a more casual, but super tasty, food & ridiculously good beer.
  • Even though this isn't my post, thanks for the suggestions! :) I'm new in town and will add these to my list!
  • I second The Pit, Humble Pie, and 18 Seaboard. So many great restaurants in the downtown area now!
