Post LASIK surgery question
For those of you that have had LASIK surgery..
How long were your eyes red and irritated?
I just had surgery last Thursday and my eyes are still really red. Is this normal? It's bad enough I can't wear any eye make-up but then throw in the zombie like red eyes I am quite the sight at work this week.
What was post surgery like for you? How long did it last?
Re: Post LASIK surgery question
When I went to the dr. the day after he said some redness was okay because the eyes were bruised and irritated.
I have an appt on Thursday for the one week follow-up and was trying to wait till then to see him. I keep telling myself that this is all worth it once I heal.
Yeah, must be a different procedure than Jeff's. It's a rather new type and the doc he had actually created the procedure and headed up the FDA trials so I should shut it bc it's probably different.
sorry!
Did someone actually handcut your flaps? or was it lasered? That may be a difference as well.
Mine were red, but not itchy. I had surgery on Thurs- off work Fri/Sat/Sun.
When I returned to work I noticed they got a lot redder. I work on the computer a ton, so tried to make sure and look away every so often and use tons of lubricating drops.
It only lasted a few days and wasn't uncomfortable at all. I hope you feel better soon.
Yeah I forgot about drops! Jeff was told to use them ever 15 mins (even though most say 30). He said it can't hurt to do too many of the rewetting ones and he used a ton.
It was laser.
Thank you Labbie - I actually feel better knowing that mine getting more irritated after going back to work is "normal".
I just called the Dr. and she said it is okay if they are still red. I am going to switch to a sensitive lubricating eye drop to see if it works.
