How was your wine tour yesterday?

Re: **MoxyMissi**

  • It was pretty good!  Some of our group got a bit... raucous, but overall we had fun!

  • Lol, that's good you had fun!

What wineries did you go to?

  • We did Keuka lake, and started at Dr Frank's, then Heron Hill, Bully Hill, Ravine, Overlook, and McGregor's.

  • Nice!  I love Heron & Bully Hill
  • Bully hill was great, and our "sommalier" was super!  Heron Hill's tasting room was beautiful, but the wine all tasted a bit off to me.  And our pourer was reeeeeeally slow.  With a group of 20 people, we were there for over an hour.  I don't know if I would go to that winery again.

If you haven't been to Keuka Overlook, definitely check it out - it's an old hippie who runs the winery out of the basement of his barn, and he's a (hilarious) walking sexual harassment lawsuit!  Ha!  And the wine is very tasty, too!  :-)

  • Rasta Ranch on Seneca Lake is owned/run by hippies and there's an older guy that is the same way, a hilarious walking sexual harassment lawsuit, lol.

BUT, the wine is terrible, lol.  It's jug wine, what do you expect?  lol

    The atmosphere is fun though!

  • Barrington Cellars is awesome on Keuka Lake too.  I think I know the guy you speak of.  I loved that place too lol.
  • Oh, I'm sorry you had a bad time at Heron Hill!  I love them!  I'm usually at the tasting room on Seneca Lake, which is not nearly as beautiful as their actual winery on Keuka, but it's usually more convenient for us. I saw some of your friend's pics pop up on FB, and it looks like you had a great time!
