Old nestie needs help - re a baby shower
I haven't been online forever but I thought you ladies could help with this one:
I am throwing a shower for a friend. Our theme is "april showers = may
flowers". I am looking for an idea for the favors. I am going to have mini
pots with flowers planted in them (for both decoration and favor) and then I
bought some favor boxes for either something edible or maybe even bird seed or
something. If edible, what would you put in...if not edible...what are your
thoughts on birdseed?
TIA

Hi there,
Cute theme! I am curious to see what the other ladies reply...
Here are my ideas...
Edible:
-Pretty pastel petifours or minicupcakes decorated with a flower on top
-Hard candies in spring colors
-Chocolates
-Jelly beans or candy coated chocolates
Non-Edible:
- Floral teas (rose hip, jasmine, etc.)
- Wildflower seed packet
- Flowered shaped soap
- Floral-scented and/or shaped votive candle (rose, jasmine, gardenia, lilac, etc.)

I totally agree about edible favors. While I think something like a packet of wildflower seeds would be adorable, I know I'd bring it home, toss it in a drawer, then throw it out 3 months later in a cleaning binge. Something edible, on the other hand, would be snarfed down in the car on my way home lol.
Lisa also has a good point about the packaging...if whatever you're going to use is in a box or something, it's really only the packaging that you have to worry about, not the actual treat itself. Or you could get something like these chocolate flowers and put them in clear cellophane bags if you'd rather have the treats themselves themed:
ETA: here are some other chocolate flowers that aren't quite as fancy but are quite cute:
Thanks for your ideas ladies. I remembered that I once used a cookie person for some holiday cookies. I called her and she can make flower shaped cookies for the shower. So perfect and DONE!
