I am thinking it might be a good idea this summer.
Re: Anyone do a CSA?
We're doing one for the first time. I was disappointed in the quality/variety at farmer's markets nearby last year, so hopefully getting a CSA will be good. And we'll have way more produce to play with
This is the one we're getting, the summer veggie, fruit and flower ones. Yes, we're totally splurging on it, but it's partly as our birthday gifts to ourselves (it starts the week after my birthday in June) and partly to celebrate DH getting a tax refund for the first time in years.

We did one a few years ago that was delivered to DH's work... and we split it with 2 other couples. It was pretty cool but we had no idea what half the veggies were-- it was fun to experiment though! DH kept forgetting to grab the sheet that came with the box to tell us what the heck we received.
We decided not to renew because we're not home on the weekends... and now DH is traveling, so it wouldn't make sense anyway. It's a great opportunity though!
I'm a bit late on this one, but we haven't done one while we've been out and Boston but did before we moved here. I would try the website localharvest.org they're a national database/info website.
Be sure you really look into it though, some CSAs require shareholders to help with some of the farming (which could be really cool if you wanted to be invested in your farming community). When we did it in the past, they had recipes with our box so we had some different ideas for how to prepare things, they also gave info on how to preserve/can some of the produce in case you couldn't eat it all before it spoiled.
GL, let us know what you end up finding!
