Anyone have a Kindle?

How do you like it? I love love love books, but I am considering getting one because it seems easy.  And I like easy.

Re: Anyone have a Kindle?

  • What is it? One of those computer pad book things?
  • Yeah, it's a wireless e-book.

  • Those are neat...!  I, personally, like to hold a book and flip the pages, but I like the idea of one.  I have to do a lot of re-reading due to an ole head injury, so if it works for you, then great!
  • I want one, but then I remember I get most of books from the library, making the kindle less useful. Boooo, it would be so much easier to hold on the subway.
  • I like a book too. I love the smell, the feel, seeing the progress =)

The reason I am considering it is because 1. books are expensive 2. i never go buy them.  I have a list a mile long and because i never get to the book store, that list will continue to grow.  this you can purchase your book right there and start reading.

I'll have to continue to think on it and until someone tells me how much the lurve it, then ill just think lol.

  • Do you do paperback swap?  That's at a pretty good $, but I def understand.  I have some relatives and friends to swap books with...
  • My neighbors have Kindles and they LOVE them!  They said the books are a bit cheaper than paperbacks.  I was wondering if they get eye strain from the screen, but they said definitely not.

My brother's ex has one as well and she loves it.  She can even get some of her college textbooks on it!

  • My aunt and BFF have one and love love love it.  I just can not fathom the start up cost ($250) and each book is like $10.  To me the library is just better.  Plus I love the smell of books.

I don't like books from the library.  I have a germ/booger issue. lol And I usually end up spending that + on most of my books if and when i go get them so i cant see that it wouldnt pay off.
