Raleigh radio stations

Hey ladies,
I just moved to Raleigh and need some help finding good radio stations. I've been channel surfing and haven't come across many good ones yet.

I'm looking for a good morning show (crude humor is ok, as long as it's not too raunchy or too family oriented), and I need a good alternative rock station. Basically, no rap, no country, and no classic rock. Top 40 is ok if that's all there is, but back in Detroit we had a purely alternative rock station and that was awesome.

 Thanks! :)

Re: Raleigh radio stations

  • 96.1 is the big rock/alternative station tho they do play a lot of classic rock and G105 (105.1, I think) has a decent morning show.

Personally I stick to NPR and CD's.  :-)

  • G 105 has a GREAT morning show.  Bob & The Showgram from 6-10am.  I laugh my butt off.  It's hands down the best morning show I've ever heard (in my opinion!)
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I generally do NPR or 101.1 for the morning. 101.1 is an FM talk radio station and their morning show is good if you like semi-intelligent but still entertaining current event type talk (no how many hot dogs can you shove in your mouth at once type contests here :)
  • G105.1  AMAZING!! It's even more fun to participate in the Friday Free for All :)

  • I'll have to say that the G.105 morning show seems to be a loveit/hateit sort of thing, you'll have to decide for yourself. Some of my favorite stations are 100.7, 101.5, and 96.1.
  • I'm a huge fan of local college radio. WKNC 88.1 is awesome.  http://wknc.org/
  • Thanks everyone! I wrote them all down. :)
