...I just got a recap email from my friend (her DH is the groom's brother). This is the wedding that was held at Disney where the bride and groom set up the wedding "store" for guests to help pay for the wedding. They also sent two STDs, one of which said if we didn't respond by X date we would not get a formal invitaiton. I responded that we would not be at the wedding but got a formal invite anyway. So weird. They had a very strict, very detailed itinerary for all their family and friends who were in the wedding. The bride flipped out when our friends (and several other family members) asked several months in advance if perhaps they could swap the day the whole group went to the Magic Kingdom to the day when some of them would be free.
Anyway, here's the final rundown from the bride's SIL:
The trip in general was both stressful and fun. Nothing went as planned, the plans changed every minute and that was VERY frustrating. The rehearsal started 3 hours late, we all just stood around at the hotel the wedding was being held at waiting, it was very frustrating that they felt no remorse and didn?t even apologize for not being on time and ready for their own rehearsal. I did feel bad for [groom] and [bride] b/c people were getting very frustrated with them and not holding back on sharing their feelings about it but really they brought it on themselves. They just didn?t seem to care and that was the troubling part about it. They basically made us feel like they didn?t care how things happened, they had the ?oh well, it?s our week so they will deal with it? kind of attitude and people were getting fed up since most of them were using their vacation time for the year to be there. The wedding was beautiful and a lot of fun so it made a lot of the other crap just melt away at least. Friday was great, when the wedding was over and we weren?t stuck to anyone?s schedule but our own and the plan was Disney.
Re: If you've followed my over-the-top wedding posts...
With all of the other information, I'm a little surprised to read that the wedding was actually fun.

I feel kinda bad for her now husband.
3 hours late? geez, rude much?
I think the bride and groom were late to the rehearsal together. So everyone else was waiting for the two of them to get there for their own event.
this. you have 30 minutes and if you don't call (someone) to say you're on your way, i'm out.
Totally. That's ri-DI-culous.
Ditto! I can't believe it was that late and people waited. As someone else said, I'm surprised to read they had a good time. Geez...
