Sending flowers

What are some good online flower shops?  I've never sent flowers before, but I want to send some to my sister.  Or should I just call someone locally?  Or send/give her something else that is a little more useful?

Can you tell this is the first baby in our family?  I already have no clue what to do with it...

Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

Re: Sending flowers

  • Truthfully, I would send flowers to her house and not the hospital.  There is already so much to carry and flowers just mean one more trip down to the car.  I think Mark had to make two trips down before he was able to get me.

You could also buy something for her.  A nice new robe, slippers, magazine, lip gloss.

  • I have heard really great things about Proflowers. The quality is really high and they are really pretty. My job has done some customer service work for them.

Hmm, good point.  I think she'll be home tomorrow, so I'll just do it then.  I'm going to run to Ulta while I'm at lunch today so maybe I can find her some fun lip gloss...and I think there's a Target next door so I'm sure i can find stuff there too.

  • There is always edible arrangements too.  My mom brought grapes with her when she came to visit and it was the best thing ever!  Hopsital food is ok but some nice fresh fruit was great too.

  • I agree...flowers sent to home. Or something nice like a new robe or slippers. Truthfully I loved when a friend would just offer to come over and babysit while I showered or ran to the grocery store :)

    Ooooh... I like this idea!

I usually send flowers, but have never had great, surefire luck with any of the "flowers come from our facility" places like 1800flowers.com or proflowers.com.  I usually find local florists or use FTD (and arrangements that specify "local florist delivered".)

Of course, that means they go sight unseen and a few times, we've been burned with crappy, much-smaller-than-we-paid-for arrangements.

  • Ok, I'm going to do an edible arrangement...I've been wanting one FOREVER so now it's a chance to send one to someone.  :)

And Kristin, it was decided months ago that I am not allowed to babysit...I think she's thinking more of my safety than the baby's, but I know I'd forget him in a dresser drawer or something.

Give yourself some credit! I bet you'll be a great babysitter and your sister will be so tired she'll forget all about the arrangement that was decided months ago! ;)
