BIRD KILLER!!!!

MY DOG IS A BIRD KILLER!!!! UHHHHH.....  I just got home from work and let my dog out in the backyard, nice day, she has to go potty...same routine as everyday.  I grab my camera and take it outside with me just to take some random pics, make sure everything is working properly.  THEN my dog starts chasing a bird....not too alarmed but start yelling "stop it...stop it..." then she runs behind our shed and doesn't come out.  So I run over to the shed, SHE HAS THE BIRD IN HER MOUTH!  OMG!!!!!  I start chasing my dog trying to grab her, camera in my hand, screaming "OMG NO!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!! SON OF A B!!!!!!!!TCH!!!!" Tehn I run over set my camera down, grab the tarp/cover off the grill because I'm going to throw it over my dog and she is going to magically drop the bird....UM NO!  SHE ATE THE WHOLE THING!!!  SWALLOWED WHOLE!!!!  OMG.....My dog is a bird killer....and the whole time my neighbors are half naked in their pool staring at me....Crying

Re: BIRD KILLER!!!!

  • Oh NO!!!  You better keep a super close eye on Momma Duck then and not let Gracie get to her and her eggs Crying
  • I know!  Uhhhhh...she is tied up to the deck.  When I let her back inside she started to vomit.  I had blood and feathers on my kitchen floor!  DH needs to get home right now!  This dog is driving me crazy.....
  • Oh my goodness...I would have freaked out, too! Poor bird...your dog was just doing what she was born to do, but still. Yuck!
  • Dooooooood! That's pretty gnarly. But dogs do hunt by nature, so try not to be too mad.

  • Pugsly likes to chase bunnies.  Given her gentle nature, we were pretty sure that she wouldn't know what to do if she actually caught one.

Your story makes me think otherwise.

    Ew.

  • Oh I'm not mad, that dog just really tests my patience!  Bird Killer....  I just came home and she had vomited (sp?) up the bird and the bird was split open and it's little heart was off to the side...on my carpet. LOL....I had to get out my handy dandy shovel and my bissell steam carpet cleaner!  That was enough adventure for one day.....Stick out tongue

I love how you followed that up with "LOL."  You're a sicko at heart, you know that? Stick out tongue

  • LOL....I'm not a sicko nor do I enjoy that crap at all, I was just exhausted to the point where I was a little insane and all I could do was laugh to keep from having an emotional break down in front of a dead torn up bird... Big Smile
  • gross.

A bird got in our house somehow a few months ago and Susie caught it as short as she is.  We go it away from her but it died Sad.  At least she didn't eat it.

Well I'm glad she didn't eat it!  Every time I look at Gracie now I can just see that bird in her mouth...UH...disturbing...

  • I bet.

I still don't see how Susie got the one in the house.  It was sitting on top of the kitchen cabinets and next thing I know she's got it in her mouth. She's not more than a foot tall.

  • My empathies...Karma caught a squirrel not too long ago, but instead of grabbing it by the next, she got it's ass- mauled it half to death, then DH had to finish it off. Now Karma LIVES for squirrels- heaven help the next one she catches.
  • Dogs are crazy!  I need to install a net over my backyard...between the rabbits, ducks, possums, squirrels and birds, my dog looks like the coyote chasing the road runner....ridiculous...
  • What kind of dog is Karma?

I have a friend with a Biewer Yorkie named Karma Smile

  • She's a 35lb, 37MPH whippet! She's funny as hell, and now has squirrel manslaughter to add to her growing rap sheet!
  • lol...rap sheet...
