We are invited to an out-of-town wedding that we will not be able to attend, so we will obviously be sending a gift despite our absence. I just received an invitation for a local bridal shower, but my parents will be in town so I can't go. Do I also need to send a bridal shower gift? Or is the wedding gift enough?
Re: Wedding Shower Gift Q
I guess it depends on how close to the person I am. If we weren't close, I would only give a wedding gift. But apparently MIL doesn't think this is good b/c for DH's cousin's shower in NY that I couldn't attend she got a gift and said if was from DH & I. She told us about it before giving, and I guess she was trying to be nice and help us out, but it really just made me go
I usually only buy gifts for showers I attend. I will pretty much always send a gift for a wedding. None of my BFFs are married yet, but I'm pretty sure I would send a gift for their shower even if I couldn't make it.
