I went to my 10-yr reuinion this weekend and thought I'd report back for zoe & elizabeth & any other reunion-goers or people thinking about going.
I had an okay time, but not great. I graduated in a class of 400 and only 50 people showed up--so, poor turnout. There were people there who I wasn't friends with and didn't even like, people who I was kind of friends with and enjoyed seeing, and some acquaintances that I would've liked to have been better friends with. But no one I really wanted to see. So H and I (yes, I dragged him with me) chatted for about 2 hours, drank the keg beer until it ran out and then left. Not really worth the $30 per person, but I would've regretted not going and been too curious otherwise.
Re: NER: My HS reunion
I have been the reunion committee chair for my class reunions for the 10th, 15th, 20th & 25th and will probably do the 30th as well in a couple of years.
Out of a class of 150 we get about 60 classmates plus another 30 in spouses which is pretty good since most of our classmates have moved away. But I also think it gives them an excuse to come home to visit.
I have found especially in the later ones that it really doesn't matter anymore who you were friends with in high school. Everyone gets along and really enjoys the events. Of course we put a whole weekend of events on so there is plenty of time to hang out. I have actually become good friends with people I would have never associated with in high school.
People change as they get older and the pettiness of high school days fades. So don't give up on going because of this one experience!!!
