Bar exam takers

How long till you find out your results?

Re: Bar exam takers

  • Late Nov. My Thanksgiving miracle.
  • Wow, that's late. I thought MN was late and they find out tomorrow.
  • Oregon found out like a month ago. Wankers.

CA is longest wait in the country I am told.

  • I have a friend in Iowa and a friend in North Dakota and they found out over a month ago, too. I only know 3 people who took the Minnesota bar exam this year and I'm nervous for them.
  • How did your friends do? Good luck to your MN friends!
  • NY - mid November.  ::sigh::

Wish it would hurry up.  I can't really get a job outside of the non-profit sector (and we all know how great that's been going lately Sad) until I'm admitted.

    Yup.

I found out last year on October 5.  CA is way too slow.

My good friend just found out Saturday.  She failed for the third time.  That suuuucks.  Especially because apparently there was a fire drill at the hotel where they were having it, during the exam!

Wow, that sucks! On both accounts!

I vaguely know someone that didn't pass it until time #5.

  • Well, I think the ABA only lets you take it 5 times so your friend will probably be done soon no matter what. Not that that's comforting....

Are you sure about that?  I think maybe that's a state rule, because I think there are people in CA who have taken it dozens of times.  There is a whole culture out here of people who just never pass and keep retrying.

ETA - definitely a state rule.  This woman took it 13 times.

I don't know about this...there are people in CA who are well beyond 5...did anyone watch "A Lawyer Walks Into a Bar"?

  • Hmm, might be a state rule... I'll have to check up. I could've sworn they told us in law school that we only get 5 times and then we're stuck.
  • PA - mid-October (this was suprisingly early as they usually came out in November)

    NJ - late November/early December

FL - late March/early April (I took PA/NJ in July and FL the following February).

  • WI gives the results back super fast. I got mine right around Labor Day last year. But then, that's because nobody takes it on account of the monumentally stupid diploma privilege. Ooh, this post makes me realize that I've been admitted for almost one year exactly. Yay!

    Now that's just cruel.
