I am all about getting them out the door February 1, but it takes for.ev.er for us to get all of our statements from other people. Then we have to take everything to the CPA. Then we have to wait for him. Then we have to review and sign. :sigh:
I would probably be waiting if I owed money, though. :P
This. Except I e-filed with H&R Block. This was our first time filing jointly and DH usually owes, so he's never in a rush. I always get $ back and have them out by mid-February. This year we didn't think we were actually going to get anything back, so we waited. But by the time we added in all our business expenses (we both had to do schedule C's this year), we will be getting a tiny bit back. Better than paying in!

My taxes have been prepared since Feb but were rejected twice because one of my income sources had some tax id issues associated with requesting the tax id too late in the year. So instead of e-filing, we have to mail ours in to be hand filed (apparently the online system will just keep red flagging me and rejecting it, but if it is entered by hand they can/will override the issue.. whatev).
I have yet to mail em in. They are sitting on the table, completed, signed, waiting to be stuffed into an envelope. They have lived there for weeks now. I'm lazy.
Guess I better get on that.

WTF, no special snowflake option?
MH takes care of the taxes, I just made sure to print my W2 (it was sent via email). I remember signing the forms about a month ago.
