That was the most interesting way I could verbalize the fact that I have been fired from my job after TEN YEARS. I just pictured Donald Trump saying "you're fired" and then running after me with a large paddle.
Gross.
Anyways... I guess I should say "laid off" but the above was more interesting.
Unfortunately, I did not get the position I interviewed for last week (I had mentioned that I'd keep ya'll updated on the status). That's ok though... there are a HUGE list of pros and a very small list of cons in my life right now, so I know that technically I'm very lucky, very blessed, and any other way you could want to verbalize that I should not be moping around feeling sorry for myself. ![]()
The good thing is that some of our ducks lined up in a nice little row and we should be ok for a little bit while I search for something else... and that I no longer have to deal with the toxicity that came with the position I had in that company.
I'm going to try and start my own cleaning service (I'm great at cleaning other people's houses, even though I royally suck at cleaning my own LOL) and DH has been getting more and more side jobs doing his handyman/household repair thing... so I know we're going to be ok!
Sorry for the length of this... I'm actually pretty happy right now, is that weird?
Re: Donald Trump Spanked Me
From the way it sounds I guess a congrats is in order?!?!
I know what you mean about cleaning someone elses house better than your own, I am the same way. Good luck!!
Perhaps, LOL. I sent my dad an email telling him what was going on and he sent me an email back in HUGE red letters that just said "MAZEL TOV" :P
It sounds like you have a really good attitude about it and I think you're better off not being in that old job. It seems like you've wanted out for a long time.
Good luck with everything!
Well, that sucks that you were laid off. What did your boss say? Blame it on the economy?
But I think I'd be relieved like you to get out of my current job, even though I have no clue how we'd afford it.
GL!
I totally understand what you're saying. I felt the same way when I got fired last June after 9.5 years.
I hope you find something you love soon!
He said a lot of really hurtful/personal things, then retracted them, then said them again... then sort of retracted them. Basically that for the last 10 years I've been an exemplary employee, but it's time for him to be selfish and stop bending over backwards and taking it up the asss for me (yes, he literally said "taking it up the asss for you")... which is funny, because I had to bend over backwards to be there... towards the end I was basically working 48-50 hours and not getting paid... ever. So when I started to speak out about it and stick up for myself he fired me.
So, yeah, it's a good thing it's over.
Thanks for the well-wishes and support, ladies!
He sounds like a real douche. It's a good thing you don't have to deal with him anymore!
