Skin Care

What do you use?

Has anyone used Dermalogica?  any thoughts? I have dry/dehydrated skin. I'm looking to get a good skin regime going but not spend $50 a bottle.  any recs?

Re: Skin Care

  • I use Clinique almost exclusively. Sometimes when I'm too lazy to go to the mall and get more cleanser I will use Aveeno foaming face wash. I don't have dry skin, though. Have you looked into lines like Aveeno? I actually really like their products, but I generally have to use products help control oiliness.
  • I love bioelements but I tend more to T-zone issues.  But I also use plain old Loreal E something moisturizer.  Its the same company that makes lancome which I love but its way cheaper.
  • I mostly use Philosophy products.  I LOVE Purity made simple!  I also use the Microdelivery exfoliating wash and Hope in a Jar SPF 20 lotion.  I highly recommend their products but I don't have dry skin.  I used to break out terribly and I don't anymore with this.

  • I have REALLY dry skin everywhere, face included.  It's so bad that I can't get away with not shaving in the winter because the hair irritates the dry skin and I get a rash.  :(

I really like Clinique products, especially their moisturizer, because you can pick different levels for your type of skin.  Like Sarah said, I'll also use Aveeno when I can't get to the mall.  The line I use from Aveeno is the Ultra Calming products and sometimes the Daily Moisturizing products.

  • I second the Philosophy products!
  • I have horribly dry skin myself.  I found the best thing for me is to use the clarisonic.  It's expensive, but so well worth the money.  Although I do like philosophy products in general, I don't like the smell of their face wash and can't get past that.  I went back to my old tried and true noxema.
  • I have wacky skin... Philosophy worked awesome for a year or two, then when I started going to the dermatologist for the wedding back in August, I started using aveeno per their reccomendation.  I use the one the one with an acne treatment which I think is clear complexion and then I use their moisutizer with tint and the regular, which is the standard one.
  • I had a roomate that was a Dermatology nurse , and she would always bring home crazy samples for all of us of dermalogica. I really liked the tinted moisturizer for red/ Irritated skin. It workrisered really well, but I've never bought it before, so I'm not sure how big the actual bottles are or what they cost. I used to use Clinique too, and liked it a lot. I started using Chanel products about 6 yrsyes ago, and LOVE them. My skin is super sensitive , and itsit's pretty much the only libeline that vouldcould cope w/ my condtantconstant changing skin...and then I got PG. My dkinskin now looks like my students. I'm hoping it returns to normal soon.
