Poll from a Hawaii Knottie: Did any Newlyweds Tip Vendors that Owned Their Own Company?

Hi Nesties!  I put this out to other Knotties, but someone suggest I ask you guys as well..since you've already had the wedding...If you have a vendor that owns their own company / is an independent contractor, did you still tip them?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

  • I did.  All my vendors were independent contractors and they all went above and beyond and felt they deserved the extra. I did get a few GC's instead of giving cash and gave it to them in thank you cards.  HTH
  • Generally, I didn't tip business owners, except for my hair stylist, who I see on a regular basis.  If they cut me a deal, however, I did tip and if they were workers (like food servers), I tipped as well.

  • We didn't.  We only tipped vendors who were working for someone else (like out catering manager and her staff, etc.)...HTH!
  • We tipped our photographer who owned his own business. He went completely above and beyond his call of duty and we adored him!! He was well worth every penny he charged plus his tip!

This for us as well, although in retrospect I DO wish we'd tipped our photog (or maybe sent him a little something to say thank you afterward, like a gift certificate to a restaurant or something), because he really went above and beyond for us!
