was just poking around the web looking at info about natural birth control and found the "ladycomp" which can be ordered through amazon.com but is not available in the US. it costs about $500 but is supposed to last for about 10 years. anyway, it uses temperature readings and urine tests to determine fertility. accuracy rate is listed as between 96 and 99 percent, depending on how perfectly you use it (like any birth control, i guess).
i would like to get off of the birth control, even though i REALLY like the whole 4 periods a year thing. but at this point, i'm just kind of entertaining the idea. just looking to see what's out there. so i was wondering if anyone uses something like this, and if so, how well they like it.

Re: anyone used or know anyone who uses a fertility computer?
I haven't heard of that. I'd try charting if you want to get off the pill and avoide pregnancy. And read Taking Charge of your Fertility. http://www.fertilityfriend.com <-- charting

I just bought mine last month and have been using it since I got it out of the box. I love it. I love not being on the pill anymore!
I bought TCOYF before I ordered the Ladycomp. I read it and I loved it and I would definitely recommend it. However, for me regular charting didn't seem like an option (I'm in school, and teaching, and working, and... I guess I'm lazy). So, maybe the Ladycomp is the lazy woman's way to chart, but I think it's worth it. My bf paid for half of it (only fair) and so far we are both happy. The only downside for us is using condoms during 'yellow' and 'red' days.
Also, my bf and I both like that we can use it to help conceive once I graduate next year.
So, I haven't been using mine for long but I recommend it. It is easy to use and tells you clearly when you can/can't have sex. The alarm in the morning isn't obnoxious. And it really feels great to not be pumping hormones into my body (after 5 years my body had enough!). Let me know if you get one.
The Lady Comp is amazing! I have been using it since last May with no pregnancies and no artificial hormones! It is an incredibly easy way to avoid hormonal birth control. I would definitely encourage you to get it as long as you pay attention to your body and read up on natural birth control you should be fine. I also put my temps on fertilityfriend.com. Hope this helps and best of luck!
