TV/Internet Provider Recs?

I haven't been on this board in a while, but we are fixing to close on our new build house in the Frisco/McKinney area, and I was wondering if anyone had any recs for TV/Internet providers?  We've been looking into AT&T U-verse... Any feelings good or bad towards them? Any other suggestions?

TIA!

Re: TV/Internet Provider Recs?

  • we had Uverse in our old apartment and Fios now (I think most neighborhoods are only wired for one or the other). We liked Uverse a lot! We were happy with the product (and that was a few years ago when it was brand new and still a little buggy) and the customer service was leaps and bounds ahead of comcast/time warner.

  • We have U-Verse. We've had it just a couple of months as it just came to our neighborhood. We're in Little Elm.

We love it! I love the ability to record so many shows at once. I really don't have any complaints.

  • I loved U-verse! Sadly, they don't service out where we live now so we have Fios. Fios is pretty good but I feel U-verse was a better deal (more channels, record more at once and cheaper). We did however have a big problem when trying to disconnect u-verse. When we disconnected service, we mailed the equpitment back in and they claimed they never got it even though we had confirmation from them that they did. It took over a year and it's finally settled but it was a real pain dealing with their customer service reps.
  • We now have U-Verse and love it.  We've had dish and time warner and U-Verse is leaps ahead of all of them!
  • We also have Uverse! We don't have any complaints about their TV/Internet services; however, if you happen to get Uverse phone and plan to transfer the phone and phone number, make it VERY clear if you'd like to keep your phone number!
  • Get UVerse! I wish we could get it where we live but unfortunately we're stuck with Time Warner. Not too impressed with them.

Be sure you look into bundling with your cell phone if you have AT&T cell phone service. You might be able to save a few dollars per month.

  • We had U-verse at our apt. but in our house we have Directv. I'd live in 1/4 the space to have U-verse back. It's cheaper and 100x better than Directv.
