My new hairdo (and makeup)

So I don't remember if I told you guys that I tried lightening my own hair last week (my "normal" hair color is medium brown).  I tried going for blonde and it didn't work out so well for me.  Being the genius that I am, I thought I could first use box color to lighten it and it would work...not so much, especially with the red tones I have in my hair.  So, BL tells me to go to the Beauty Supply store in the next town over and ask them what I need to do and they will give me what I need.  So I do,  he gave me highlighter, then a Medium Golden Blonde to put over it after.  Now, he must have mistake me for a hair smart girl because he apparently thought I had the tools necessary to do the highlight part.  I myself thought it was like a regular dye.  I get home, pull everything out, mix it up in the bottle I bought and read the directions, DUN DUN DUN, you're not supposed to use a bottle for highlighter, a non-metallic bowl and brush are necessary.  So, since I already had wasted into the bottle I mixed it with a wooden stick and dumped it in my hands as I tried my best to put it through my hair.  I complete the highlighting, then dye it with the color dye he gave me. OH EM GEE, my hair was yellow, orange, brown, NO BUENO.  So I go to work the next day, get laughed at and call this girl I know who works in a salon downtown.  She tells me she can fix it no problem the next night.  When I got there the next day she asked me if I learned my lesson with box colors.  She said my hair got all jacked up because the highlighter doesn't mix with box dye because box dye has metallic in it (hence the reason for the gold/orange tint all over my head).  Needless to say she fixed it, and re-cut it (because apparently the girl I saw at Supercuts a week prior fvcked my cut up too) free of charge (the pros of knowing people).  The dye job fix only cost me $40, SAWEET!  So, end of story, below is the end result of my lightening process.  And dang I caught myself at a good angle cause you can't see my other chins!
