We're moved!

Being tv and Internet-less for 24 hours was ROUGH. Not that there was a lack of things to do, but still! We have lots to do yet, but it's getting there. Slowly. Figuring out all my house's quirks has been interesting.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: We're moved!

  • Waiting on the cable company is definitely one of the hardest parts of moving.  After a busy day of moving it's nice to just sit and watch some mind-numbing television for a little while before passing out.

Our weekend was good.  DH worked and I did laundry.  We were so behind because of schedules so there was quite a bit to do.  I also worked on Amelia's room a little bit after I found some baskets at Michaels.  I am so excited about them!  It's hard to read the embroidery but they each say "Baby Things" in dark brown.  The bottom pic is a close up of the bedding.

  • Aww, the nursey looks great! Where did you find your crib bedding? Any more bump pics?

It never feels like home until the cable guy comes! Every time I move I tell the guy "you're my favorite person in the world."

Thanks!  The bedding is from Target.  I was actually thinking of doing another bump pic this week.  I also cut 2" off my hair so it would be a 2 for 1.

Since we're doubled up on the apartment and house, we chose only to pay for cable at our apartment.  We brought a TV and DVD player to the house and have watched many many DVDs over the past few weeks.  Thank goodness the library has so many TV on DVD collections, because otherwise I wouldn't have lasted.

  • The cable man is the best person to see when moving! Glad you are moved in mamie.

     Love the bedding lucky.

Weekend was good. Low key. I've been having foot swelling so D told me we were relaxing this weekend. All day Saturday I sat with feet elevated and he got me whatever I needed and helped around the house. It was great! Sunday we went to church, babies-r-us to get the pack-n-play, which they didn't have : ( They must have discontinued it, so I'm going to look online for it today or pick another one. Then more being waited on by D.

Today is my first day off from work. I've gone grocery shopping and am doing laundry. I know I should rest too, but I feel like there is still so much to do before baby!

Tell me about it : ) I'm hoping to post nursery pics and a bump pic soon. I'm waiting for D to hang some things up in the room first but may get impatient.

No.  We closed in February, but we had our apartment lease until the end of May.  The buy-out of the lease was 2 months, which is how many months we're paying both rent and mortgage, so we decided to keep living at the apartment and spend the 2 months painting and renovating the house.

It sure did stink to make our first mortgage payment when we've never slept a night there.

  • mb - The foot swelling is killing me!  I can handle growing everywhere else but the other day it was so bad, I could hardly wear shoes.  I was a wreck.  Glad to hear your H is helping you relax.  Looking forward to the bump and nursery pics!

  • Yayy! I was thinking about you this weekend, How are you liking it so far?? Cable is the best!!

My weekend was nice and relaxing. Spent time with the pup, gave him a bath (good times!) and Kev grilled up some awesome food. He is completely OBSESSED with his new grill (which is actually pretty freakin sweet!). House-wise, we furniture shopped without success, and I've gotten one step closer to painting, by buying ceiling paint and painting supplies. The next step is going to be to get K to OK the paint colors I have in mind (he's a little non-commital when it comes to this stuff...)

I feel the exact same way about getting bigger everywhere else but the feet. Friday my feet were horrible and I was a little concerned with how big they got. I only have 2 pairs of shoes that fit besides sandals (and it is too cold for them still). I'm hoping this baby comes soon, so I can wear all my shoes again!

  • Mb&d... wow you are getting super close -- good luck, I hope everything goes smoothly these last couple of weeks.

Lucky... your nursery looks great -- I love that bedding.

Mamie... totally understand - we had to wait about 3 weeks when we moved before we got cable - it was miserable.

As for my weekend... it was fantastic but busy.  I baked Friday and Saturday morning, then headed to Lexington to help with a bakesale.  Thunder Over Louisville was Saturday night but we went down all day with DH's boss and co-worker so we were downtown for about 12 hours.  Yesterday we got tons of work done on the backyard... lots of cleanup, new flowers added to the flower beds, weeds sprayed and some grass seed down to patch the holes the dog digs.  I feel a lot better because the mess was stressing me out everytime I went out back.  Finished yesterday evening just laying in the hammock with DH and a couple glasses of wine.  Pretty much perfect.

  • Congrat Mames! That was fast! I also feel your pain on the cable/internet thing! Remember I snuck into Barnes & Noble so the kids could play with the train and I could get my internet fix?! Pathetic!

MB&D-NO WAY! Cannot believe you are SO CLOSE! Very exciting, congratulations!

    Lucky-I also love your nursery {and Amelia}.

    Good stuff!

  • Thanks, A. I was going crazy without the outside world. A radio is only so much entertainment.

Here's us on closing day. Pardon DH's squinty/irritable face. He just woke up.
