Anyone ever think about doing B pics?

B as in Boudoir? I have been giving it some consideration as a thing to do for our first anniversary. I know there are some people on here who have had them done. One of the places around here that I have been looking at is doing a marathon session in June and i'm really wanting to do it but it looks like it'll be about 350 bucks which is like expensive to me since our wedding photog only charged us that much! Any thoughts?

  • I haven't, but $350 seems pretty cheap to me. I'd do it if I were you!

After 22 cycles and 4 failed IUIs, Serafina joined our family through IVF/ICSI, born 8.28.12
Surprise! The Sequel is due 12.8.14!

  • I've had two thoughts about them that have personally kept me from doing them.  (This is not to persuade you one way or the other, btw... just saying.)

    1) Where would H put them?  They probably wouldn't be things i would want on display, and I probably wouldn't want to show the kids someday...

    2) I personally fully believe that my body is not B-pic worthy. I would feel uncomfortable and frankly, a little ridiculous.  But everyone's self-perception and self-confidence is different, regardless of their body shape.

  • I did them for DH as a surprise wedding gift. I got my favorites printed into a book and gave it to him on our wedding night. He LOVES it. He keeps the book in the drawer in his nightstand ;-)

Now that I'm losing weight though, I think I may do them again once I've finished losing!

  • I plan on getting them done at some point. I didn't have the time or money before the wedding, but I'd really like to do them as a first anniversary gift if I get around to it in time! I feel like they're just as much something for me as for DH- I get a day of pampering and getting made up and feeling sexy. I just think it would be fun- I know he'd love them, and I can look back one day and be like "d*mn I looked good!"

I know price is regional and all, but FWIW, I think $350 sound like a pretty good deal!

  • I would def. do it!
  • I would totally do it for $350! I'd love to do it for DH but my bod isn't going to be pic worthy between now and our anniversary. Maybe for our five year?
  • I did them for a wedding gift.  $350 was the price I paid for an amazing photographer in my area.  The price included hair, makeup, and a "little black book" of my 20 favorite images.  He keeps the book in his underwear drawer.

I totally did it for me as much as I did it for him.  I have never felt beautiful, ever.  When I got my "sneak peeks", I cried.  When she sent me the link to the full set of photos - I bawled.  I loved what I saw.  It was an amazing confidence boost!  I think I look at the book more often than he does.  Big Smile

  • I did them. They were fun! Kind of weird at first, but it was an amazing confidence boost! DH loved them too and was totally surprised by it.

I only paid like $35 bucks though...I went to my photog's studio and there was a $25 "sitting fee" then I paid for the prints I wanted which came to roughly $10..I got a couple bigger prints and some smaller ones.
