4/20 is rather annoying. Even more so to me because it's my half birthday

It is a myth that 420 is a cop code (though that's what a LOT of people think...actually 420 isn't a cop code for anything). It is also not the number of chemicals found in smoke (another big myth of it's origin). It started out back in the '70s as a code for high school kids to meet after school to do their "thing" (the time they could meet). Just thought I'd give a little background...I actually learned that in class!
And since it's been around for over 40 years as a code a lot hemp festivals and legalization sit-ins take place on April 20th.
Kind of crazy that a couple of high school kids from the '70s made a code now "heard" around the globe.
And now I want to go see FB posts...I can't FB from work.

A- April 20th, 2010 is the ten year anniversary of the epic attack of the ninjas! Those involved will never be the same. Others, who do not believe, will probably laugh. And those who have no idea what I am talking about will think I am insane.

This!! I've thought about taking one and modifying it to be about my cat. I've also thought about getting a "my cat is an honor roll student" bumper sticker for my car...
This is one of the things on my long list of useless knowledge...I can't believe I was actually able to use it! I feel like my day is complete now and I really think that my boss should allow me to go home for the day. Dang I need to be a boss!

Those re-post things are getting out of hand. I posted something yesterday about it being volunteer week...because...it is and it actually says it on my calendar. I think a lot of volunteers get snubbed as low lifes especially where they are volunteering (we get it a lot at the shelter from certain employees like we are the dirt they walk on). ANYWAY...mini vent in there, sorry...I had so many people copy it and repost it haha. I had to giggle at it. Not that I care that they did it, but I wonder how many people actually believe or do what the status says vs. how many people just see "copy and repost" and do it automatically.
Thanks for the info on the whole 420 thing. Now I don't feel so clueless.
FYI- tomorrow (and sort of today) is Administrative Assistants Day!
It seriously is though, go buy those flowers for your AA's! This is actually a pretty decent holiday for my IL's flower shop.
in high school i had a lot of friends that would skip on this day. it was funny cause one year they made a huge threat about anyone that was absent for that day would get 0 in all their classes. that did not fly well with a lot of parents. my BFF at the time birthday is today and her mom always took today off and pulled her out to have a mommy and her day. man, you should of seen the steam coming out of her ears.

Love it! I think what you do when you're young is one thing. I am actually not a person who believes once you have children your life stops & you have to give up everything you like doing. Smoking pot does fall into the small category of things you have to give up, though. A friend of mine posted something about celebrating 4/20 and I was SO tempted to reply "Are you going to celebrate with your son? Grow the hell up." Now if marijuana is ever legalized I may revise how I feel about it. I just think doing illegal things when you have kids is such a bad thing, what do these parents think they're teaching their kids? Children need to grow up knowing they have to follow the rules even if they don't always agree with them.
I saw a few people c&p this into their status and giggled a little bit too. I thought I can't be the only one that realizes this was an original.
That was senior skip day at my HS so yes, I also skipped on 4/20 one year

I always thought "420" came from the number printed on the outside of the rolling papers package? guess that theory is up in smoke
