DH is thinking we should make our moms wedding albums for Mother's Day. The problem is that we won't have our full size files in time. I see that Snap Fish and My Publisher both have 5x7 albums which will work since we have 4x6 files but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with that for them. What are your thoughts on that and/or other photo gift ideas?
Re: Photo Gifts
I think the photo albums are a great idea! Another cool photo related gift are those digital frames that you upload photos to and they play a slide show. We got one for my MIL for Christmas and she loves it. Another cute idea (probably better for Christmas since it's the end of the year) is to make a calendar of photos. I did this with my childhood photographs from baby to high school for my mom one year. You could even just give them one nicely framed wedding photo for Mother's Day too. Oh and Yankee Candle puts photos on their candles which is neat too.
I think any photo related gift is special because it becomes a keepsake.
If you're not satisfied with the smaller pics, maybe just choose a flipbook as a temporary fix until you're able to get the larger books. Then your moms can carry them in their purses.
Who makes flip books? That could be better than trying to design a cool little book when I'd rather design them each a larger book once we have our larger images.

Walgreens has "mini" photo books for $5.99. ???

Sorry I didn't post sooner--class gets in the way sometimes!
So, flip books or soft covered mini-books can be made at Viovio (under Softcover mini-book, MyPublisher (under Paperback Pocketbook), and Vistaprint (listed under flip books).
MY BLOG!
We ordered photo books for our moms from snapfish. They should be here any day.
Were you hoping to put full page photos on every page? We did mostly pages with 3 or more pics each. If they're not large enough to turn out good it will let you know before you order. You could play around with it and see what you think.
If they're 5x7 books (I think that's what snapfish has?) I won't do full page photos because they photos get pixilated (I always forget how to spell that) larger than 4x6. Let me know how yours turn out. I've never used snapfish but have only heard good things so far. Oh! And what size did you order?
MY BLOG!
The book we got for us turned out great, that one is a 8x11 with a personalized cover.
The ones we just ordered are the classic ones with linen covers and they're also 8x11.
One thing I really like about snapfish is they give you bonus stuff with most purchases. When I created an account they gave me 50 free 4x6 prints and when we ordered our first book they gave me 150 more. They have constant deals and promos going on too. We got these 2 'buy one get one free' for the mother's day promo. That one ended Sunday though.
