Hi ladies!

Just dropping by to say "hi!" Big Smile How is everyone?

Everyone here is great. I am sure I am not the only one dying for the weather to start warming up(and stay there...none of this 80 degrees one day and 30 the next business!).

Re: Hi ladies!

  • I'm doing great!  I can't believe your son is already over a year old!!

    How have you been?

  • Hi!  I can't believe Nico is 1 already - wow time flies!

    And love the new addition!

  • Things are great around here. I started working again a few months ago.

Caitlin is six now and has been reading everything. Thank you kindergarten for the lovely songs about what every letter of the alphabet says. :-) I signed her up for another season of t-ball. She's upset, though, because she hates using the tee to hit. We have tried explaining to her that it's not a bad thing.. pros use the tee now and again to practice. Hopefully, she won't argue with the coach about using the tee....

Nico is doing great, too. He is running and climbing everywhere. Up until his first birthday, his only words were "Mama" and "Dada". Over the past month, though, he has been chatting more.... "Hi", "Grandma", "uh oh", "all gone"....and not a word, but every time he eats and takes a bite, it's "mmmmm". :-) He has this Elmer Fud laugh, too. Soooo goofy! and health wise... He is doing incredibly. He did end up in the hospital, at the end of Feb., for a few days because he was having trouble breathing, wasn't eating/drinking, and was dehydrated. They tested him for RSV and that came back negative, but the decided it was probably some other, similar, respiratory illness. While he was there, though, they did a cheat xray. They found out that his remaining lobe of his left lung has expanded to fill the space that the one he had removed once took up. So, theoretically, he should have the lung health of other babies. He isn't wheezing as much anymore. The Drs and I have decided the nebulizer medications he was on weren't really working. So, thankfully, he hasn't had to have any treatments in a couple of months. As long as his breathing continues to improve over time, he won't have to worry about the meds again. His heart was checked back around the end of Fall. The hole in his heart had closed and the walls of his heart were thinning out to normal.

Then, our puppy, Fury. He's a three-month-old Great Dane. He is awesome! He is very laid back and has no issues with the kids. Nico steals his food dish sometimes and he does nothing. he doesn't freak when Caitlin and Nico pet him or Nico steps over him(and sometimes falls). So, once we get past the nippy puppy play phase, everything will be dandy there. :-)

  • Oh wow, such good updates!  I was wondering how Nico was doing.  The human body is amazing, sin't it - how it can recover, compensate, etc...  Amazing!
