I am just so excited, I had to share!
MH and I moved into our condo a year ago and weren't planning on doing any painting/renovating, etc since we planned to be here for only five years.
Then the kitchen sink started linking hardcore and now there's mold in the kitchen. Of course, that means we can do a complete re-haul of our 1970's kitchen. Yay! That also means new tile and new paint in there.
And, what does that lead to?
Of course, new paint for the dining room, living room, bedroom and the hallways. And, then molding for the rest of the house to match the kitchen.
My newest thing is to replace four out of the five closet doors and paint them all to match. Still gotta convince the hubs on that.
The last, and least important, thing to do is to re-tile and re-paint the bathroom and replace all the fixtures.
I am so beyond thrilled! I love home improvement and DIY stuff!
Thanks for letting me share, ladies. I am interested to hear any of your home improvement/renovation/remodeling stories as well! :-)
Re: AW: Remodeling and painting
Good luck with all of the projects! It's crazy how one repair/change can lead to a big list of them.
We will soon be delving into many improvement projects, after we close on our house. There is a lot of updating to be done. I'm a bit nervous about all of it, but DH is really looking forward to it.
Thanks! It is really crazy how these kinds of projects can snowball.
Don't be nervous or at least try to mix in some excitement with the nervousness.
Just try to take all the updating slow and it should be okay! Don't try to do it all in one day!
Good luck and congrats on your house closing! :-)
Yay for you! I expect to see pictures when you're done :-) And I love that stuff too. We're moving into a new apartment/house next week and we get to paint and we might even get to refinish the wood floors in the house and I'm so looking forward to it. Have fun with your projects!
good luck with everything.
We bought a fixer-upper (link in sig) and have been going pretty much non-stop since we bought 2 years ago. We stripped all wallpaper (3 rooms + hallways) and painted all rooms when we moved in. Last summer we replaced all 24 windows, replaced the cedar shingle siding with vinyl, replaced all exterior doors, added a patio, and had the front walkway dug up and replaced it with a retaining wall and new walkway. This year we are gutting and renovating the upstairs bathroom and landscaping the yard. Next year we are gutting and renovating the kitchen and the breezeway and at some point we're replacing carpet and refinishing hardwood floors.
I get tired just thinking about it all.
