Natural or herbal PMDD treatment??

Good morning,

DH and i recently decided that i would go off of my bc due to the side effects (severe dryness, decreased sexual desire, etc). It's really been taking a toll on our sex life so we decided to try to go off for a little bit to see if it helped.

I've been on BC for awhile and completely forgot (until now) how severe my pmdd was. I've only been off it for a few days, so i'm going through the normal PMS i would on the days before my period anyway, but just going throught he PMS and realizing that i won't have the bc to help stabilize my hormones this month freaks me out.

I really want to try this, especially because in the next year or so we will want to ttc and i don't want to need to stay on my bc forever. Other than pharmaceuticals, does anyone know of any NATURAL options that have been successful with their PMDD (or people you know)? I use some natural supliments to deal with stress at time, and i find it is very helpful. I feel like there should be some sort of vitamin complex made to deal with this, but i'm really ignorant when it comes to such things.

TIA

Re: Natural or herbal PMDD treatment??

  • While looking up natural remedies online Vaxa and Femalite really seemed to be 2 positive options. So, impulsively, I bought them both and am hoping that one of them might help to minimize some of this. Has anyone had experience or heard of either of them?

  • arbonne natural balancing cream is amazing. Fixes everything and its all natural.
  • Have you been diagnosed with PMDD?  Is it just bad PMS?  If your symptoms are truly severe, you might want to consult with your doctor (& maybe a psychiatrist) as to what your options are, aside from hormonal BC.

  • I've heard Estrosense works well for that. Available in health food stores
Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • Thanks so much everyone!

My doctor and i talked about it years ago (prob 6 or so years ago). She didn't refer me to a psychiatrist to rule anything else out, but based on teh symtpoms and some other tests she diagnosed it pmdd. I've been on bc ever since and forgot how debilitating it is.

I'm feeling really hopeful now, and for the first time kind of looking forward to pms next month to see if anything can help.
