My husband finally has an entire weekend off to spend with me and our daughter. Any ideas? It's suppose to be anywhere between 65-75 degrees around, San Diego and LA. He was telling me about some flower fields in Carlsbad, which sounds nice. Anyone ever go there? Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

Re: weekend outing ideas
Isn't there a miniature city for kids down in Irvine. Anyone know what I am thinking of? SIL took my nephew there and he loved it. You could do that and then possibly go over and pick some strawberries.
ETA: I'm not thinking at all, your LO is still too young to enjoy it. But if anyone else is interested, I just did a google search and it's called Pretend City.

We went to the flower fields a few weeks back - -it was really pretty. Afterwards, we went strawberry picking (it's about a block away from the flower fields). ?My 2 yr old had a blast there!
Not sure if you'd be interested, but this weekend is the LA Times Festival of Books at the UCLA Campus.?
We've taken both our kids to the science museum in Balboa park when they were around 6mths, they have a kids area for crawlers, they loved it. But it is kind of pricey to go just for that area, unless you can find a discount. And they also liked the botanical gardens.
This blog is great for socal day trips
