So there is this co-op thing, I just purchased my first basket!!! Very exciting
Its $15 for 6 different veggies and 6 different fruits!
My a few of my friends did it last week, one blogged about it http://becomingjayefay.wordpress.com/2010/04/17/co-op-bounty/
This is all she got:
1 bunch swiss chard
1 head romaine lettuce
2 bunches (2 heads each) broccoli
1 bag carrots
17 red new potatoes
1 container mushrooms
1 container grape tomatoes
8 bananas
1 galia melon
1 pineapple
2 containers blackberries
1 bag (I think 3lbs) apples
Seems like a damn deal to me, it looks like they have a location in WA Jweat....and then DaniB there are tons of PHX locations!
Re: Bountiful Baskets...
OMG-that sounds yummy!!!!
but what do you do with swiss chard?-otherwise, I'd have everything else GONE!
I do a CSA every year that is like this. I love getting veggies I have never tried before.
Lori- swiss chard is like spinach or collard greens. A bit more bitter so you have to cook it longer.
We did not do a CSA this year because money is tight from Mat. leave so we are growing a garden. Not as many choices but much cheaper.
Here is the link to the site list, there are a tN in AZ so you have to scroll through
