Kerrville?

A rehab that I send a lot of patients to offered to put DH and me up at a hotel in Kerrville for a weekend if we wanted to come see the rehab and then spend the rest of the weekend doing whatever we wanted.  I heard it's beautiful out there but what is there to DO out there?  Anything cool?

Re: Kerrville?

  • ... Will reply tomorrow from my PC, because I hate nesting from my iPhone Did they say what hotel?
  • My parents live in Kerrville and we go there pretty often. There isn't a ton to do, but between stuff in town and around the area, you could fill a weekend.

Just off the top of my head: Kayaking & swimming in the Guadalupe or picnicking on its banks. If you like shopping or people watching, Fredericksburg is just 20 minutes away and Comfort is 15 minutes down I-10. The country around Kerrville is gorgeous, so taking a drive through Hunt & Ingram is a lot of fun. There's a Stonehenge replica out that way and it's fun to check out. Camp Verde is kind of a neat general store in an old post office.

Food wise, there are a few decent restaurants there now. Billy Gene's has a pretty river view and good chicken fried steak. They also have a really good Italian place, but I can't think of the name offhand.

It's a good place for a getaway, especially if you want a more relaxing weekend.

  • Okay, pretty much everything Chicklit said. The Guadalupe is a very pretty relaxing spot for a picnic. And the drive through Hunt is very pretty.

Also, it's one of the top 10 US retirment locations! Hehe

The YO Ranch is just outside of town - they have a tour of exotic animals that's pretty fun. I got to touch a giraffe that had his head stuck in our bus!

    Billy Gene's is yummy!

Their Italian restaurant is Bella Vita which is yummy, too!

    Here's a webpage I just found:

You could definitely spend a relaxing weekend there!
