Hey ladies. Just wondering what kind of dishwashing and laundry detergents you all use. Trying to be a little greener in these departments and I know we have a ton of eco-friendly gals here.
Re: Detergents
Yay Jaime! We use 7th Generation Delicate on Libby's dipes and wipes and Ecos Free and Clear on her clothing and blankets. We don't use dryer sheets anymore. When we did, we used Bounce Free and Clear. And we mainly use OxyClean over Chlorine Bleach (although we do use it on Joseph's work aprons which get all funked up and Clorox is the only thingthat takes care of it for him).
For handwashing dishes we use Dishmate Earth Friendly Dishwashing Cleaner in Apricot and for the dishwasher we use Cascade Action Pacs with Dawn (because the eco-friendly stuff was not getting our dishes clean).

ecover is the only (eco friendly) dish detergent that gets our dishes clean. I use biokleen for sink washing.
I have tried all sorts of laundry detergents and have learned that it really depends on your water (soft or hard?) because things that get raves on the internet haven't worked for me. Right now I use biokleen for our regular clothes and planet for cloth diapers. Country Save didn't work for us at all - stinky diapers and dingy white. Haven't used dryer sheets in a long time - our current dryer has never had one in it. Even the Free and Clear type interfere with DH's asthma type allergy outbursts.
I love lots of the biokleen stuff - oxygen laundry boost powder, produce wash... thinking about trying their auto dish wash next.
we use Method dishsoap for our sink washing. I have the Cascade Free right now, but only b/c we just moved & I had to run to the convenient store for dishwasher liquid. We usually use 7th Gen.
For laundry, I use Method on our sheets, towels & undies, but Tide Total Care on our clothes.
This! I love it! It has a natural lavendar scent which is very nice/fresh smelling also. I use it along w/ Oxi-Clean for brightening. We also use the Kirkland brand dishwashing liquid which is also a great value.
For the whitening and brightening, I noticed that if I shut the washer off mid-cycle for 5-10 min and let the laudndry just soak for those few min, it will remove all kinds of stains. I think the Oxi-Clean is great!
