Bring Your Kids To Work

Did your work allow it? Did a lot of people participate? I work in a large office building and there are so many here! They did plan quite a few activities, so that's probably why more parents brought kids this year. If we lived closer to my step-sons, I would have tried to see if they were interested in going to work with me.

Re: Bring Your Kids To Work

  • Apparently my company doesn't participate in this.  I saw no emails about it nor have I seen a child anywhere.  Thanks for posting this though.  I was kind of wondering why I saw a couple of kids on the train this morning.

  • I haven't seen a kid here yet. We sit alone in our offices using computers all day and it's quiet. I can't imagine a kid enjoying this setting!!
  • My old company did not allow it.  However, it was a tobacco company and we spent all day in liquor and tobacco stores.  Even if I had a kid I would have never taken them even if it had been permitted.

  • I'm the only one who works in my office so no kidsSad
  • Yes, may company does it in some of the regional offices, but not all of them.

In the last office before this one I'm at now, they had a bring your kid to work day with a TON of activities during the day and a children's Christmas party where parents bring their kids to the office building the Saturday before the Company Christmas Party for games, prices and to talk to Santa. They decorate the big conference rooms with trees and lights and posters and garlands...it's pretty cool.
