Recipe Rave...Guac
Okay, I do not like avacado. It's a texture thing, it's weird, I dunno, not a fan, unless it's in sushi, because i LURVE sushi. At my bachelorette party my friend made guacamole and made me try it. It had tomatoes in it, which I love, so I tried it...HOLY HEAVEN....
I went out Monday night and bought the ingriedents and made it. I'm in love. Who knew?!?!? It is AMAZING.

Oh my... DH and I have an obsession with guac! In the summer - when it's easier to find good avocados - we'll make it a couple times a week. This habit really got kick-started when we bought this:

It's called a molcajete, which is basically Spanish for mortar (& pestle). It really makes grinding the ingredients easier and it's fun to use. Plus, DH and I love our kitchen gadgets.
We basically use that recipe, but sometimes we'll get lazy and buy pico de gallo so we're not chopping all night. Add that to the avocados, some lime juice and a bit more cilantro and we're set.
I am an avocado freak!
We eat a salad with diced tomato, avocado and red onion in a vinaigrette and OMFG...it's insane over fish, steak...umm..everything!
OMG! I got that at my shower. A friend bought it for us off our William Sonoma registry..I had no idea what it was for but thought it was super cool... then she was like um, I thought you hated avacado...LOL. Once we move I'll totally break it out!
