I am 16 days into p90x. I'm not doing their diet, just watching what I eat (= except for the brownies DH made this week. Bad, DH!) So far I've losst 4 pounds and feel great. I can tell it's improved my fitness so much already. I really enjoy the workouts and am happy I went with it!

Re: p90x update
We have a pull-up bar and I can do 1/2 of one. I'm doing the band workout for the back instead of pullups. Maybe someday. . ..
Charch, I'm doing the lean version because I like the extra cardio.
Terp, I'm putting running on hold for 90 days and plan on training for a 1/2 marathon once I'm done with p90x.
Ditto! Well, I might have been able to do a chin up (w/ my fingers facing me) after I did it last summer, but definitely not a pull-up.
Bobs, this is a great time of year to do P90X, you'll finish up in perfect time to pick running back up to train for a fall 1/2 marathons.
I really want to do the Rock-n-Roll 1/2 marathon in Virginia Beach on Sept 5.
Beach=flat.
Bands the whole way=me not bored.
I would love to be able to do this! (and this is the one I would love to do) However, I am such a wuss. Maybe I can get my "game face" on one day.
Running a half marathon has been on my list of things to do before I die. I'm trying to get down to what I weighed in college and figured knocking off one goal will help with the other. Funny thing, I'll probably lose the weight just in time to get PG again.
I did this race a few years ago and it is a lot of fun. I just did the Shamrock 1/2 Marathon in March which is also in VA Beach and the biggest hill was 12 feet tall, so I agree, the beach is where its at for long races. One word of advice would be to keep an eye on registration b/c that is a popular race and it may sell out early. GL with your training!
