How to Help Sick Coworker?
I could really use any and all suggestions, I'm at a loss ...
We just found out my coworker has lung cancer. He's being admitted tomorrow to have one lung removed.
He works from home in New Jersey.
He's married, has grown children.
And
He's a super guy and I'm just heartbroken for him and his family.
My boss had flowers sent from all of us, and we are circulating a card. That just doesn't seem like enough.
What can we do to help with him being so far away?
Re: How to Help Sick Coworker?
man, that sucks. ;(
could you have some food delivered to his family?
That stinks. I hope the surgery goes well.
Flowers and a card are good. I think a meal delivery service would be appreciated too
I would have never thought of doing this - or that it's even possible!
another thought - what about a cleaning service? when he does come home his house is ready for him.
Food delivery! Why can I never think of these things? That is a great idea.
I'm not sure about the PTO, I'll have to ask! It's a big company, so I'm expecting a No, but it can't hurt to ask, right?
Cleaning service is a great idea, too! I kinda feel weird about that. I don't know his wife, and what if she's not comfortable with someone in their home? Or if they already have someone? Hmm I'll have to ask another coworker for details. There is a guy in another department that worked with him for years that may know.
Thanks so much!
