::passing on my closing dust to Barb!::
Barb, did you get the "all clear" yet? We didn't ours until an hour before while we were headed to our walkthrough. Talk about down to the wire!
When are you moving? Do we get house pics??

Re: ::passing on my closing dust to Barb!::
Hello!!! Yes, we closed this morning at 9! We went for the record for fastest closing and got through everything in about 20-25 minutes!! Our realtor had already gone through mostly everything with us on the way to the closing so we didn't need too much explained!
We spent the day cleaning and taking care of a lot of little projects around the house. I am so excited!! The big move happens on Saturday!
If I can remember how to PIP I will certainly share! You'd think I'd remember by now.....off to play around with pictures so I can show you some!!
Thank you so much for the dust!
Yay, congrats!!
The house is soo pretty - is that new construction?? What all do you have to do besides clean? I had all these grand plans to do things like repaint a room and all this other stuff. Now I'm still area rugless and dining room set-less.

It is actually an old house (built in the 50s) that was just completely re-done. We bought it off a contractor who is flipping it. We changed all the locks today, did some cleaning, and fixed some minor things (cabinets were loose, new shower head, and stuff like that). I need to finish cleaning. The bathroom needs to be re-done at some point. There are white appliances that are brand new, but not what I wanted (I wanted a gas stove and a nice big fridge), so we bought new, stainless appliances and they arrive Mon. Luckily we were able to sell the others on craigslist, so we also had to uninstall those.
As for now, we will eventually paint, but all of the walls and floors were recently redone. This gives us the chance to get in and sit for a bit while we decide how we want to decorate. We need to get furniture (everything we have was given to us or bought on the cheap).
Our first goal is to tackle the outside! I love to garden and can't wait to get a veggie garden going as well. We want to redo the deck, fix the front steps, and paint them a different color. Lots of projects, but nothing major! I am so excited!!
How are things going on your end mames??
Oh crap, I never had the locks changed. How much does it cost to do that?
We've been here since Sunday night. It's weird getting used to it. Especially manuevering around the kitchen. But it's getting more exciting and homey by the day. We still have a crapton of stuff to do:
- buy area rugs
- fix gouge in the wall from trying to get our couch in the door
- replace storm door
- buy blinds for the LR
- arrange for a trash guy
and all other decor stuff. Bleh. But I guess we have time.
Enjoy the new place! I want more pics of the interior!

For locks, we just went to Home Depot and picked out the ones we wanted. They can re-key them right there for you so you have all matching locks. For 3 sets of deadbolt and doorknob locks it was close to $150. Or you can hire a locksmith to come to your house and re-key your existing locks. Steve is very handy and just put the new locks on himself & I helped. It was quite simple to do.
Oh and I don't know if you have a Lowes by you, but they offer a 10% moving coupon! You can find it online, print it out, and get 10% off your order. This is going to help with our gas grill purchase!
More pics, sorry they're probably going to be too big again!
Here is my awesome kitchen. We sold the white and our stainless come on Monday. I am psyched for the amount of cabinet and counter space in this kitchen. I love cooking and I fell in love w/this kitchen as soon as I saw it!
And the bathroom that needs serious work...it's also fairly small but whatev!
The upstairs is kinda like a master "suite" ... well sorta. We are using this side for our bedroom, and the other side is identical with huge closet space. That railing has to go and will be gone soon! Steve wants to build a nice, wooden wrap around.
I don't have any good pictures of the great room yet, but it is that addition off the side. It is a huge living room with cathedral ceilings.
As you can see, everything is pretty much the same color right now. But since the paint is fresh we're going to be able to really take our time in deciding how we want to decorate!

Thanks Mamie! The next two days are going to be psycho...I can't wait to just be in it!
Have a great weekend ladies!!
