Name change/thank you cards
I FINALLY got my name changed on my license and SSN! Still have to take care of my passport and car title and I'll be done.
Also got a majority of the thank you cards in the mail (WHEW!!!) Only have a few left to write for those who gave us cash. Can't WAIT to have this all done!

Thats great! I'm hoping to hit the SS office on Monday of next week and then the DMV on their late night on Wednesday.
I'm jealous you have your TYs almost done. We're putting pictures in ours so its gonna take a while.
I'm so jealous that you have the majority of your TY cards done! I have about 80ish to write and I have 10 done. I think I'm going to bribe H tonight by going to the Rita's we just found last night and telling him he'll only get the water ice if he helps me write his sides TY notes.
With the passport, do you know if you have to apply as a person who has never had a passport before? Or can you apply for a renewal but under your new, married name? There is just such a price difference and I don't want to have to pay for the whole thing all over again when I'm the same person just a different last name.
I'm super jealous about the thank you cards! I keep staring at mine - they're pushed under a table in our family room. I want to get pictures to put in them, but again, that keeps getting put off too! Maybe I'll just give up and send them with the Christmas cards.

Thank you cards went out today -- i had this weird thing - i sent none until i finished them all, but i still have a few left to do just needed them out of my site.
I am jealous about your legal name change. My brothers wedding is in 2 weeks in kentucky and i booked my tickets under my maiden name. Cant change for a bit

I'm done with my TY's as well, and went to SS, but my appointment at the DMV isn't until the end of next month! I just want to get it over with already!
All my thank you notes went out Monday, save one I didn't know I had to write that I really need to do. I went to the DMV Monday and changed my license, but now have to wait to do the SS. (I went to their office, but KS issues you a temporary paper ID and mail the actual ID... and the SS office wouldn't take the temporary one I was issued that morning. Ugh.)
How do you go about changing the name on your car title?
Here in Oklahoma, I have to take my car title to the tag agency (basically the DMV) and do it there. It's the same place where I changed my drivers license.
In my case, I have to get a new passport because my old one expired. If yours is still current, I believe you only have to fill out a name change form and send it in. I also don't think it costs anything but I could be wrong.
We did all of our TY the day after the wedding, so I definitely know what a relief it is to be all done!
I went to SS office this week, so hopefully the rest of the change process will go by fast! I didn't even think about having to change my name on the car title!
