Laprascope

I had a laprascope done on Feb. 16th (I know it was a wonderful Valentine's day present for both me and my husband) and I have since switched birth control pills after they found and removed endometriosis.  I have still been having issues with spotting and I think between that and the fear of pain I have been reluctant to have sex as often as I would like to.  I was wondering if anyone else had been in this situation and what they all did.  I know this is definitely ruining a big part of our newly wed year.

Re: Laprascope

  • I also have endometriosis, but I had my laparoscopy a couple of years ago. My husband and I have been married for about 6.5 months. I think sex was painful at first, and it still is frequently. However, I think the pain is worth it. Secondly, have you tried having an orgasm before sex? Being that aroused might be helpful--it's helped us. I would try not to worry, as the worry may cause you to be less aroused--thus less lubricated. Some of the birth control pills they will give you for endo can cause you to have vaginal dryness also. Take it slow, use lots of lube, etc. Plus, you may still be a bit sore from the laparoscopy! I think it will get better in time for you. I hope so! :)

  • I have endo too plus vaginismus. Sex is very painful all the time, some times more than others. I didn't have sex for maybe 2 or 3 months after my lap, just b/c I was scared and didn't feel comfortable too. We have to use tons of lube, before and during sex all the time and that helps with the pain. Also, my obgyn prescribed me something called derma smoothe oil, and you massage it in down there for 30 sec every night. Only been using it 3 days and we had sex today and it didn't hurt at all! First time pain free! She said it would help the endo, vaginismus, and dryness. I would ask your doc about that if you still have pain.
