Yesterday was her due date. We went up to her house and my mom made dinner. We could tell she was having contractions by the way she was acting. Her eyes would tear up every so often and she'd rub her belly etc. We left around 9 and I didn't think it would be long before we got a phone call to go to the hospital. I was right. We got the phone call around 1 am. Everyone drove to the hospital to sit and wait in the VERY uncomfortable waiting area. When she called her doctor her contractions were 5 minutes apart. By the time she got to the hospital they were 3 minutes apart. My sister was very upset because they told her to go to the other hospital since her doctor was there and not the one she was preregistered at and took the tour of. Within a few hours she was having contractions 1 minute apart but she was still at only 3 cm's. So the doctor at 8 am decided to send her home. My sister was SO upset by this. She cried and didn't want to leave. Now everyone's back home. My sister was able to get some sleep and eat some food. The contractions are still happening on and off. I hope that my nephew comes soon because my sister is very tired and none of us has gotten much sleep lately.
Re: My poor sister
Not yet. The nurses were pretty certain she'd have the baby Sunday night (tonight) but we'll see. The doctor told her that she has a thick cervix so I'm guessing that's part of the problem.
