If the publically funded school won't teach provincial circulum for a course then reduce public funding accordingly.
(disclaimer is there is a reason I keep my relationship with God at home and no longer go to Church. I have issues with the Church leaders and their attitude towards/treatment of homosexuals)
Oh for pete's sake. Get real! You know what? I went to a public elementary school but a catholic high school and when I started the 9th grade, I really couldn't believe just how in denial the administration was about teen sexuality, STDs and pregnancy. It blew my mind! You should have seen the uproar when I made a request to have them consider putting condom machines in the bathrooms. Wake up, this is not an issue of religion. It's an issue of public policy and education. Yeesh.

It still baffles me that taxes go towards funding a religious school system.

ditto! the article says that the catholic school system has a program, fine, but institute it for public schools then. Plus, the catholic school system is very flawed. Both of my cousins are hardcore catholic, yet, oops, both of them got pregnant before marriage. Obviously something needs to be done!!
Blah, sorry for the mini rant, I had a huge 'discussion' with my cousin on this topic yesterday. She was being SOOOO close minded to this.
