yahoo vs gmail

I mainly use my school email right now...but will need to go back to my other email. I used to use Yahoo the most but get junk mail there now so am contemplating utilizing my gmail address....do you have a preference? Is one better than the other?

Re: yahoo vs gmail

  • I prefer gmail, personally. I like being able to use gchat (without installing an application) and video chat with other gmail users.  The new Buzz thing is interesting. I can follow people's blogs if they opt to have it alter to Buzz without having to go to their web site.

  • I prefer gmail too.

I think the organization is a lot better, and it's easier to file away emails and find them again later, in my opinion.

I have an active yahoo and gmail.  For anything online... i give my yahoo address so all the 'junk' goes there.  I only give my gmail to actual people and for important stuff.

  • I think my drawback is that gmail seems a little different and I'll have to learn something new...
  • I have both, but gmail is by far a better email client.

GChat is built into it, which is great. Gmail has a really good spam filtering system. I rarely get any junk in my inbox that I did not sign up for. And you can apply personal filters to separate out other things into folders automatically. It also has a really nice forwarding system. It is also super easy to learn how to use.
