Where did you DH's wedding band?

FI and I started searching for wedding bands for him yesterday. He doesn't want a plain band and would like it to be in palladium or maybe that tungsten carbide. Anybody have a place that they would recommend for us to look since we need to find one soon?

DH had a good experience at Helzberg when he bought my engagement ring, so we went back there for wedding bands. That was a while ago, so I'm not sure what different kinds of rings they have now.

Maybe check out some jewelers websites online to see if you see anything?

  • Jared has some nice ones, I usually browse while getting my rings cleaned.
  • We got DH's at Jared. I am not a big jewelry person but I love that place. The customer service there rocks!
  • I got DH's at Jared's. I second the customer service there, it's excellent!

  • We got DH's from bluenile.com. We've also gotten some other jewelery from there as well. Their selection isn't as big but you can get things very quickly and I think it's reasonably priced.
  • We got DH's tungsten bands (yes, bands plural b/c the first one didn't fit him come wedding day, so we had to buy a second - lol!) at JM Edwards in Cary on Kildaire Farm.  My e-ring was also from there.

They tend to sometimes be pricier but it seems they carry better-quality for some things.  The tungsten band was the same price as mall-type stores, so it was a no brainer for us to re-use them again.  I go there on a regular basis to get my ring cleaned and they are just so nice!  Christian is who we've worked w/ the most.  =)

I'll third the Jared's recommendation, their customer service is phenomenal.

Seriously they replaced at no charge an opal ring that couldn't be resized 2 years after DH bought it for me.  ( I wanted to switch it to my right hand after I got my e-ring, and was hoping to get it streched.  Since they couldn't do that due to the opals being fragile, they ordered me a new one in a larger size)  Anything we've ever wanted or needed they've gone above and beyond to be helpful.

  • Nevermind... misread the post Big Smile
  • We both got our bands at Bailey's
  • Another vote for Jareds customer service!

I go once a month to get my rings cleaned, so they also inspect it at the same time. I lost one of my sapphires here at work but thankfully a co-worker found it. Turns out had it not been found, Jared would of covered it because the ring had been in there within the past 60 days. I wouldn't have even needed to use my extended service plan.

  • i'm searching for a palladium band right now for DH and the only store i've found that carries them is reed's. i got his 2nd band there (yes, i'm buying his 3rd in just under 4 years of marriage... first was white gold and we didn't know his pH was so high, 2nd is at the bottom of lake norman) and had a good experience.

i'm going this week to negotiate price, but otherwise i'm going to this website. i've gotten several recommendations for it. it helps that there's 10% off too.

  • We got DH's palladium band at Diamonds Direct during one of their truck shows. They had a decent regular selection too. Personally, I think Diamonds Direct has the best service around. Of course, you pay a little more for that but they were willing to negotiate too.

DH ended up having to order a replacement ring because he was convinced that the first was too tight. They didn't want to stretch the first ring to fit since it might weaken the metal.  So they were super helpful and turned the order around quickly

  • Reliable Loan in downtown Raleigh. Allen is fantastic. It may look like a pawn shop, but don't let that scare you away, they actually have a diamond vault in the back :)DH's palladium ring came from there.
  • Diamonds Direct in Southpark.
  • Ebay :)  DH's ring is titanium

  • we went to Jareds too and have had nothing be amazing customer service!

DH got one of Scott Kay's new bands, one of the more inexpensive bands. I've forgotten what it's made of, I have a horrible memory. It's not plain, but not super fancy, but it does have detailing to it. Just what he wanted!

    Good luck!

  • We got his at Sams Club!! Costco also has some really nice rings.

I second Blue Nile though, DH got my E ring and Wedding Band there, and I also have several other pieces from there and I LOVE them all!!

  • DH's "real" band came from Diamond's Direct (Southpark), it's palladium.  After the time he thought he'd lost it I ordered him a sterling silver band from JamesAvery.com (great jewelry!)

  • DH has tungsten carbide, and we got it at Diamonds Direct.  It was really reasonable & I think they have great customer service!
  • We got his titanium band at eweddingbands.com, they engraved it and everything. Excellent prices. Good experience.
  • Got DH's and my bands at Diamonds Direct. They just had a sale this past weekend that doesn't help you, but there customer service is AWESOME!

  • I second JM Edwards in Cary.  We've worked with Christian also.  I've gotten all of my major jewelry from there.  They are fantastic.  We had poor service at Jared's.  They were pushy and talked bad about their competitors.  They were really classless.  We ended having to get my watch there because it was the only one I could find I liked but we try to avoid that place like the plague.  Stick with someone local rather than a chain.
