XP: Jeweler Recommendation

I want to have my engagement ring diamond reset.  The current setting is beautiful however there are two problems. 1) it cuts into my finger and because of the pave around the shank, it can't be resized and 2) the head where the diamond is set prevents it from sitting flush with my wedding band (which I really would like. Just personal pref.)

I've been to Americus, but that's about it. I'd like to avoid a chain jewelry store.

Anyone have any med/large stones reset by a jeweler in town you trust?

Re: XP: Jeweler Recommendation

  • Might try Franzetti's on Kirby Lane.  The owners live in my neighborhood and have been in the biz for years and years.  I took my ring to them to have it appraised and they had some gorgeous stuff in the store and I leafed through an album of all the custom jewelry they do.  some pretty amazing stuff there.

  • I got my engagement and wedding rings at Krugers on Congress. Loved them. Both rings are unique and the wedding ring was made especially for me. Also, before we purchased either, I went in about 4 times over a 6 month period and they were always really nice, not pushy or judgey that we weren't ready to buy yet. Love them. Yes (Why isn't there a heart emoticon? Only the broken heart? Dumb)
  • I second franzettis .. I've known them for awhile and very sweet people. One day I'll be "grown up" enough to buy something there ;) The son I believe is their custom jeweler.
