So I'm in charge of planning our annual intern progressive dinner and wanted to see if you ladies had any ideas for what part of town and/or particular restaurants would be good.
For those not familiar, the general idea of a progressive dinner is that you go to one restaurant for appetizers and drinks then walk to another restaurant for main course and then another one for dessert. So the basic requirement is that there are several restaurants in walking proximity to one another and we need room for about 60 people on a weeknight. A nice to have would be nearby non-street parking.
Past dinners include:
Downtown - Palominos --> McCormick and Schmick's --> Via Vite
Rookwood - The Pub --> I forget where we went for main course --> P.F. Changs
Newport on the Levee - Don't know exactly where they went
Mt. Adams - Don't know exactly where they went and I know they took a bus that year since parking is hard

Re: Progressive Dinner Ideas
Hyde park on Erie...drinks at Vineyard Cafe, dinner at Teller's, dessert at Graeter's...there are others to choose from though.
Covington, mainstrasse...a lot to choose from.
Those are the first to cross my mind. i will let you know if I think of more.
I am 99% sure that the Vineyard Cafe is closed.
Dowtown has tons of places with in walking distance. Might not be right next door, but within walking.
Sungs, Lovcal 127, Tonic (apps only) Nada, Bootsy, Roma, Mr. Sushi (might be a little casual), Palace (good dessert option), Orchids, Nicolas.
Northside could be fun too. Slims does a casual dinner durning the week. There is Honey. Not sure what Take the Cake's hours are but they could be good for dessert.
Mariemont could be fun and different. Drinks at Dilly Deli, dinner at Quarter Bistro, dessert at Main Street Cafe or National Exemplar.
Clifton is great too. You could do drinks at Cactus Pear, dinner at Thai Cafe, dessert at Biagios.
O'Bryonville has O'Bryons Irish Pub for drinks (with a huge outdoor patio/deck), Balboa's Grill, and Bonbonnerie (jsut not sure what time you would be getting there and what their hours are).
This was my first thought too - there are also 2-3 bars in that area for drinks.
Cactus Pear might not be considered 'walking distance' from Biagio's & Thai Cafe for Clifton for some, but you could do drinks at Arlin's - dinner at Thai Cafe or Olive's - and then dessert at Biagio's (I never can spell that in any form that looks right). I'm also not sure how well B's would handle a crowd of 60 seated all around the same time for dinner since it's such a small place with a small kitchen - but they might be well able to handle dessert.
Hyde Park on Erie - drinks at Hyde Park Tavern, dinner at Bangkok Bistro or Saki Bomb, - dessert is my missing piece there. There are also two smaller bars near both of those dinner spaces.
I'll add to this one that National Exemplar is also a great option for drinks. They have 3 different bars, all of which are capable of being closed off as a private group space.
Downtown = drinks at Bootsie's, dinner at Nicholson's, dessert at Arnold's (which has historical significance and a great covered patio)
Definitely do Mariemont. Contact Chuck at Dilly Deli and he will set up an amazing drinks event for you!
Dinner at Quarter Bistro.
Dessert at Graeters!
Thanks for the ideas so far!
I'm not as familiar with the Mariemont area (I'm a born and raised westsider now living in the northern suburbs!). How's the parking situation? Are there quite a few other restaurants in the area or have you named pretty much all of them? We only announce the first location and then leave them guessing for the others so it's nice if there's a dense restaurant population. Of course, people might be like me and have no idea what's around, anyway!
For Clifton gaslight district, can you still park in that IGA lot and if I remember correctly, it's fairly big?
Parking around Hyde Park and O'Byronville as I remember it is pretty scarce, no?

Quarter Bistro and National Exemplar are about the only thing in that part of Mariemont other than a LaRosa's. That Graeter's does have seating, but I'm not sure it would seat 60 people all at once - or be able to handle orders very efficiently. Parking can be found at a small public lot and on-street parking up and down the block. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's harder. (I think this would be a great excuse for a date night to Quarter Bistro and the Mariemont Theatre
).
Clifton Gaslight - yes, there is a public pay parking lot right next to the IGA lot. Just about all the restaurants do validate for a discounted rate at that lot.
Hyde Park - down by Saki Bomb, there are some spaces out front and there's a fair amount of on-street parking. In Hyde Park Square - there is a public pay lot behind Arthur's but that can be crowded sometimes.
