Make-up Question
I know we've had questions on make-up before, but this is a little different.
1) Do you wear eye liner? If so, do you were it on top, bottom, or both of your eye? Above or below the lashes?
2) What's your normal make-up routine for work(full face, basic face, just mascara or gloss, nothing)?
3) What's your normal going out make-up routine?
4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)?
Lastly, there was a post on another board about this and I want to know your responses.

1) Do you wear eye liner? If so, do you were it on top, bottom, or both of your eye? Above or below the lashes? Yes. I generally just wear it on the top intermingled with my lashes (if that makes sense...I don't like seeing separation between the lash line and the eye liner). Occasionally I'll also wear it on the bottom. I never put it on the on the inner rim because it irritates my eyes.
2) What's your normal make-up routine for work(full face, basic face, just mascara or gloss, nothing)? Foundation, concealer, blush (sometimes bronzer), loose powder, eye liner, shadow, mascara, lip gloss. It could seem like a lot, but I use a light hand and neutral colors.
3) What's your normal going out make-up routine? I add on to above and make it stand out more. I usually do a darker eye and glossy lips (I think I look strange with lip stick).
4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)? On a day-to-day basis it's pretty much the same. I don't feel the need to put much more effort in when it comes to just going to the office. But, I love playing around with colors and techniques, so I do like to try new things on the weekends or when going out.
5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? No, not really. Makeup isn't for everyone. I will say, though, that I think in general people look more polished with even just a little bit of makeup (tinted moisturizer or some gloss or whatever). I feel gross without makeup on, so personally, I'd never go to work without it. I know for me it helps me feel more confident and put together, so taken in a professional setting I think makeup can be useful.
First off, let me say I never thought I'd be answering makeup questions.
1) Do you wear eye liner? If so, do you were it on top, bottom, or both of your eye? Above or below the lashes? I do now, I wear it on both, unless I'm being lazy then just the bottom.
2) What's your normal make-up routine for work(full face, basic face, just mascara or gloss, nothing)? Foundation, powder, blush, shadow, a shadow for my brows because I hardly have any, eye liner, mascara, lipgloss.
3) What's your normal going out make-up routine? For now, the same as above because that's all I have.
4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)? See previous answer.
5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? No way, before the MAC counter last weekend, and learning the proper way to do makeup, I was never into it and never wore it. I must say though, I seem to be "cheerier" and have more confidence when I am wearing it.

4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)? Mine is pretty much the same... pinks one day, tans the next-depending on my attire... I'd love to try new colors, but I ALWAYS go back to these. Time to hit the MAC counter!
5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? No, but I do think some lip gloss-even a neutral or clear-and some mascara help. It's what you're comfortable with. Some people have awesome skin and are fine with nothing.

It just depends on how I feel, what my allergies are up to and what is going on that day. When I do wear it, I wear it on the top only very close to my lashline.
2) What's your normal make-up routine for work(full face, basic face, just mascara or gloss, nothing)? Very much like the above answer. Some days are a total waste of make-up. I usually do basic face of foundation, powder, blush, eye brightener, gloss, and mascara.
3) What's your normal going out make-up routine? Depends on what i am doing. I'm not clubbin' it up or anything these days so I have a lighter hand when it comes to my make-up.
4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)? I use a basic color pallete all the time adding plums and pinks for more special occassions.

5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? Depends on the person and their face along with what they do. In a corporate setting a person with a full face looks more polished and put together than a lady with nothing on. I personally feel less "professional" on the days I wear lighter make-up and kick myself when I get to work and discover we have a meeting or something going on. So yes, I think it can be more unprofessional to not wear make-up but it isn't for everyone. Sadly, society has applied that stigma.

2) What's your normal make-up routine for work(full face, basic face, just mascara or gloss, nothing)? full face...foundation, eyeliner, shadow, mascara, blush/bronzer,lip gloss. Since I work in the beauty industry it is very important that i have make up on everyday.
3) What's your normal going out make-up routine? Not that different from work, but I usually will wear more eyeshadow and maybe bolder colors.
4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)? The same basics, but I switch up lipgloss/lipstick colors alot. Also I tend to wear earth tones on my eyes more than not. If I am going out somewhere special sometimes I wear blues on my eyes.

5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? No. As long as you're neat and clean, it's completely fine to not wear make-up. I think I look sleepy without eyeliner so I like to wear it to work because it makes me feel more professional. But it's COMPLETELY optional.

2) What's your normal make-up routine for work(full face, basic face, just mascara or gloss, nothing)? Until 2 weeks ago, it was nothing unless I had a big meeting. Now, it's foundation, blush, eyeliner top lashes, and a light shadow in the corner of my eyes to lighten them.
3) What's your normal going out make-up routine? I add eye liner to my lower lashes and I wear eye shadow. Depending on the evening, somtimes I just wear a little on my lid and others I wear full smokey eyes.
4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)? For work yes. For going out, not even close. I have multiple colors of eye liners and shadows. I like to play around and try different things. Also, depending on my clothes, I change it up. I do have a general scheme I follow when I'm uncreative though.
5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? I do not think it's unprofessional -- for the past 2 years I haven't. I think rolling out of bed 10 minutes before work and looking like it is unprofessional, but not wearing make-up is not. However like many of you said, wearing make-up makes me feel more confident and I notice a difference in how others interact with me when I have it on. And although I do not think there is such a thing as too little make-up in the work place, there is such a thing as too much (for most professions).

4) Do you always wear the same make-up or do you switch it up (as in differnt colors/shades)? I try to complement my outfit. I don't MATCH my outfit. There's a woman at work who does and she looks like a nutcase. Yellow eyeshadow with a yellow dress and a yellow headband. WTF?
5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? It depends. If you have great skin and natural coloring, you might not need much. There's a woman I work with who is a natural beauty, so she doesn't need it. She looks classic.
On the other hand, there are some plain janes who come to work generally underdressed and under done. I think they look unprofessional.
There's one woman with long hair parted down the middle who goes all out on foundation and powder, but stops there. ???? She looks like Elizabeth I, but not in a good way. Mix in some mascara so your eyes don't blend in with your skin!

5) Do you think it's unprofessional to not wear make-up to work? I work in a hospital. I don't think anyone notices or cares if I wear makeup. I show up in my uniform, showered, hair washed. I think if you are clean and appropriately dressed the make up part of things is totally up to you.

3) What's your normal going out make-up routine? I go full face. Foundation, concealer, powder, 2 blushes (one to conture), 3-5 eye shadows, eye liner, mascara, lip liner, lipstick, gloss. Yes I am a whore.
