Do you/did you go to your friends' graduation ceremonies? What about extended family (cousins, nieces/nephews, ILs, etc)?
I always try to get out of the ceremony and just go to the party

First off, I wasn't big on graduations, so I didn't even attend mine. Not for SMU and not for UT with my masters. (I will do the UT PhD one though.)
That being said, the only other graduations I went to were my brother's at Princeton for undergrad and Scrips for PhD. He didn't walk for his masters at SMU either.
I never really understood why people outside of family would want to go to those, but I've had quite a few people say they want to be there for my last one, so I guess that would be cool. Though Id really rather they come to the party
I would definitely go for my nieces and nephews, but probably not cousins and other extended family (most in Canada and Europe).
For reals. My parents and grandparents came to mine, and I didn't expect or want anyone else there. If you're having an after party then I understand wanting people there, but it doesn't seem worth it to me to have spades of people there to hear someone say your name and see you walk across a stage for 10 seconds. My friends and I have an ongoing pact to never expect one another to attend graduation ceremonies. That's just us though, I'm not trying to disrespect people who like to make a big deal over the ceremony.
Sometimes I pin stuff
this, for sure! I bailed out of mine early - because it was boring and because it was a million degrees out and we were in black gowns. ugh.
I remember taking a nap under a tree at my sisters's grad. oops.
if my brother ever graduates... regardless of where i am in the world, i will be there! going on 6 years and he'll maybe finish his associates this year....
cousins - i haven't gone to any yet. but the two who are about to graduate are graduating from A&M and considering the fact that I live here, it seems rude not to go! i have given small gifts to all my cousins who have graduated so far.
i don't think graduations are that big of a deal (undergrad). for my cousin who is heading off to med school... i'll be there with bells & whistles when he's done
Word. I wanted to skip my own graduation (from UT), but my parents insisted. I am pretty sure even they were bored.
I went to my brother's college graduation, even though it was out of state. (My parents paid for my plane ticket.) My mom had, like, walking pneumonia during the trip, and I was unofficially in charge of making she she didn't need to be rushed to emergency care. (Yes, she totally should've stayed home.)
Ha ha! This reminds me: for my brother's college graduation, I gave him a foosball table for his new apartment. I'm pretty sure his roomies wanted to give me the Best Sister Ever Award for Outstanding Awesomeness.

I went to the ceremonies for my brother and two sisters, but I was young and was dragged there by my parents. And I was of the age where it was excusable to hand me a coloring book to keep me quiet for the ceremony.
One of my sisters came to my college graduation; she's awesome that way. I ended up walking for my MA, even though I wasn't crazy about it. I made the mistake of asking what my parents wanted me to do and they were gluttons for punishment and wanted to go to the ceremony. I snuck a book in and read for most of it. For my MFA, I didn't give them the option and didn't walk.
Married and it feels so good!
