dryer lint is attacking me!

it seems like i am constantly wiping off the top of the dryer around where the dryer lint trap thing is.

anytips to have to wipe it off less often?

also i would like to vent how my mom nagged me, my ex bfs mom nagged me, fmom i nannied for reminded me, my aunt nagged me, in different times in my life to CLEAN OUT THE LINT TRAP when you do laundry. my FMIL doesnt clean it out often, not sure when she does, because we both do laundry, but i have seen like 4 layers of lint on it before! uhg! and she complains that the dryer takes an extra 20 mins...

i empty the lint trap after every load, and i don't have much dust because of that, so i'm guessing the fact that it's not getting cleaned inbetween loads would be the problem you're having.

I'm having the same problem! I have never experienced so much lint. I empty the lint trap after every load and it is always overfollowing. And the lint seem so to be travelling to other areas on my home - like the bathroom.

We have even had somone come in to clean out our dryer vent - nothing seems to help.

I empty mine after every load, and I still have an insane lint dust problem on top of my dryer. The lint trap is a tight fit and dust gets knocked off as I pull it out. It drives me nuts because the lint trap was inside the door on our old dryer so we never had this problem! I've started using the ball of lint to wipe up the dust before I throw it away, and it definitely helps prevent it from building up.

It seems, at least in my case, that it has more to do with the downward facing of the lint screen combined with the fact that its curved, so when you pull it out, you have to pull it at an angle gently and then turn it over quickly to avoid "dusting" the dryer top. It drives me nuts. I havent tried it, but perhaps laying a shammy, or paper towel down will at least "catch" some of it?

It sounds like you have lint buildup outside the trap. Pull the dryer forward gently and remove the back of the dryer. You will probably find a ton of lint has build up around the dryer outside the works of the dryer but inside the casing. This is hindering dryer performance. If left untended, this can be a fire hazard.

The dryer needs to be cool when you do this. After you remove the lint that you can see. Take a vacuum with a crevice attachment (the long narrow thing) and vacuum the inside of the dryer.

This generally should be done annually. The benefit is that your dryer works so much quicker and better afterwards.
