Hilarious Katie Couric Video
Wonkette has the TMZ video of Couric mocking Palin's answer about what she reads. It's lolz-worthy.

Re: Hilarious Katie Couric Video
I can't see the video, but my initial reaction is that if Katie Couric wants to be taken seriously as a journalist, it seems weird for her to mock the people she has interviewed.
That being said, I will watch the video when I get home.
She was walking on the street, and somebody with a camera asked her what she reads. She said, "Any of them. All of them." When asked for a specific, she said that everybody lies about The Economist but that she actually reads it.
She probably shouldn't have said anything, but it's not like I expect journalists don't form opinions of the people they interview. Maybe not the best professional decision, but it doesn't in any way compromise her interview of Palin.
I agree with this. I can't watch the video right now, but just from the description, it doesn't sound like terribly professional behavior. However, I will reserve judgment until I actually see it.
She shouldn't have said it--if I were a journalist I wouldn't want to be known for mocking my interviewees. (unless I were Steven Colbert but I doubt that's what she's going for). It certainly doesn't do much for her credibility.
But still--hilarious.
I personally don't think it compromises her interview of Palin, but once she mocks someone she interviews it does not make her look impartial. It just gives fuel to MCP ticket to distort what was in fact a bad interview for Palin, and turn it into "see it was the liberal media trying to issue those gotcha questions".
I've never really been able to take Katie Couric seriously. I will always associate her with the Today Show, when she was Matt Lauer's giggly, less intelligent sidekick. At least that was my impression. Lauer always seemed to have a "tolerating fools" attitude toward her.
Then again, last week Lauer did ask Robert Kennedy Jr. how his dad was doing.
