Hmmmmm.  My lease is up and i would love to stay in the neighborhood.  We are debating what to do.  Is that price sticking?  Does your landlord want to increase or willing to go down slightly?  If it is staying the same or going down, I am possibly interested in learning more.  Where are you exactly?  Do you like your apt?

  • Hey!

The rent is definitely going to stay the same - and its a rent stabilized building so it probably wouldn't increase a big deal if you were to renew. We're on the corner of 5th & Degraw. It's really a great apartment. The people in the building are nice and friendly. It's a 2bd railroad style, its on the corner of the building so each room has window (good light). It's on the second floor - has a good size eat-in kitchen, living room and then 2 more rooms (we use as our bedroom and guestroom/office). There's also a nice foyer area and 2 good sized closets. All the rooms are pretty equal in size. It's a pet-friendly apt/building. We've been here two years and we loved the apartment the first time we saw it - and still do. We're just looking for a quieter location in the same neighborhood.

And for full disclosure - some of the reasons we are moving is because it's a noisy corner. There is also a deli right below which when they cook causes our guestroom/office to smell like bacon or other various foods.

We're still waiting to hear back from the apartment we applied to - but if you wanted to stop by and see our apt one day if you are really interested, I'd be happy to have you over!

  • yes, I would love to see it!  It sounds great.  I am right on 9th st. so I am used to noise, a lot of noise.  Every apartment has minor inconveniences and this doesn't sound bad.  Are you around on Sunday?  I would love to see the apt. with my husband and see your little guy.  Let me know.
