where to ride bikes (besides TL)?

I found a kickass beach cruiser on CL yesterday for my H (it has sweet chrome fenders!) - I have a similar one so we obviously won't be doing any mountain riding, etc.  besides town lake, where else can we go?  we live in leander, the town with no bike lanes, so unless we want to get run over by a semi, we won't be riding around our house. :/

  • It's far from you, but the Veloway in Circle C is perfect for this.  Except that one hill that's a total MFer.

    awesome, thanks!

both bikes have gears (a must on a cruiser) so the hill should hopefully be more manageable. ;)

I've had to do the walk of shame up that hill more than once when I couldn't get up it.  Luckily it's at a turn so usually no one is there to see you.  lol

  • The Shoal Creek area has nice bike lanes... they even have lanes that go in opposite directions like regular traffic does.  Its a favorite neighborhood to cycle in.  http://www.dahmus.org/iofiles/trans/shoalcreek.html

If you want a different trail, try Brushy Creek trail.. there is about six miles of both cement and dirt trail.

My coworkers rave about this trail.
